Bitta is the next-generation publisher for education. We turn educators’ course material into living textbooks, course textbooks that teach back, and publish them under the author’s name. Programs license them, instructors adapt them for their sections, and students learn in them, with every session reporting back.

A course textbook built from an educator’s own material that teaches back. Students talk it through, practice with it, and get graded on the author’s rubric, and every session comes back to the author.

Everyone around the book. Authors publish their course as a living textbook under their name. Programs license it for every section, and each instructor adapts it for their class, from the students’ language to the rubric. Students ask it, talk it through by video or voice, and practice by doing, with feedback on the rubric.

A new way of assessment, built into the textbook. Students show what they know by doing it: role-plays and voice calls with the book’s characters, simulations, games and quick checks, all built from the chapters. Each one adapts to the student and is scored on the educator’s rubric, and every session reports back.

We produce the living textbook with you, review it for editorial quality and pedagogy, handle licensing and pricing with departments, market it, get it adopted by other instructors, and keep it updated with you.

There are two ways in. Publish with Bitta from $10,000, a one-time setup fee with the scope set on a demo call. Or apply to the Innovation Partner Program, where we waive the fee for the very few authors we select. Either way, bring what you teach from as it is: a textbook, slides, cases, a syllabus, or a manuscript in progress.

Often, yes. Your methods, lectures, cases and slides are usually yours. Bring the agreement to the fit call and we’ll walk through it.

A few hours in total, plus a handful of beta readers. Most of the work already lives in your material: the manuscript, your revisions, your own thinking.

Your own sections first, then instructors at other schools who teach your subject. It carries your name wherever it’s used.

Case by case, agreed with each author on the fit call. Usually Bitta holds exclusive distribution or licensing rights to the living edition, and the profit is shared with you. For Innovation Partners, you never fund the build. We take on very few partners per field.

Traditional courseware is written in-house, and every class gets the same chapters and simulation. A living textbook is built with an educator from their own work, assesses students by doing on their rubric, and changes when they revise it.
